Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara addresses her husband Aljaz Skorjanec’s temporary move out.
JANETTE MANRARA has spoken up about her relationship with Aljaz Skorjanec ahead of the next season of Strictly Come Dancing.
Janette Manrara, who just left BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, has revealed how the couple had to split up before the new season. It comes after her 31-year-old husband Alja Skorjanec was forced to leave the couple’s house due to coronavirus restrictions last year.
After taking over Zoe Ball’s job as host of the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, the Miami-born dancer will be fronting the show.
When the dancing competition returns to viewers’ televisions next month, the 37-year-old will be co-hosting the BBC series alongside Rylan Clark-Neal.
Janette has now stated that they will not be able to live together, but that it will not be for as long as it was last year.
In a new interview, the BBC broadcaster addressed the subject, saying that the couple will be separated for a while again.
Janette added, “We always do a major rehearsal for all the professional dances, and they get performed and sometimes even shot before the series begins.”
“Because Covid is still an issue, the pros and the production team will have to isolate to rehearse and film all of the professional dances, which means Alja will have to relocate out of our home,” the Strictly star explained to OK! “But it won’t be as lengthy as last year,” the It Takes Two host stated, adding that she will go on vacation to distract herself from missing her other half.
“Last year, we had to isolate for the entire series, and I didn’t see Alja for 11 weeks,” Janette explained. This time, however, it’s only the four weeks of professional rehearsals.
“I’m going on holiday to distract myself from losing Alja,” she said. The former Strictly dancer has already addressed her departure from the primetime show, admitting it was a “bittersweet” experience.
Janette rushed to Instagram to congratulate the celebrity Strictly contestants as the news of their participation became public.
