DAN WALKER has reacted to the sudden exit of his Strictly Come Dancing co-star following their health woes.

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has reached out to Robert Webb after the comedian announced he would be leaving Strictly Come Dancing. The actor explained that he made the decision to withdraw from the competition due to ill health.

The 49-year-old was partnered with Dianne Buswell, 32, on the BBC competition.

Taking to Twitter, Dan, 44, reacted to his co-star’s sudden departure from the popular dance contest.

In view of his 726,000 followers, the BBC Breakfast host retweeted an official statement from Robert and Dianne

Dan commented: “Really sad news for both Robert & @dbuzz6589.

“It’s been wonderful to watch them enjoying every dance each week. Health comes first though.

“Take care Robert. Hopefully, see you soon.”

Viewers rushed to comment, as Amanda Griffin penned: “Such a shame. Thought he had great potential but health is so much more important and all credit to him for making a tough decision.”

Kirsty McDaid remarked: “Such sad news for both Diane and Robert but health comes first, and good on Robert for giving it a good go!” (sic)

“Very sad for them both, but as you say Dan, health comes first. Thank you for the entertainment Robert and Dianne,” Dave Higgins penned.

Robert revealed he is pulling out of Strictly with immediate effect due to his previous open heart surgery.

The actor said that he was advised to withdraw on doctors orders after experiencing “symptoms”.

Robert said in a statement, read on Wednesday’s It Takes Two: “I’m extremely sorry to have to announce that I’m withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing due to ill health.

“Two years ago I had open heart surgery and although I believed I was fit enough to take on Strictly and its demanding schedule, it became clear that I had bitten off way more than I could chew for this stage in my recovery.

“I had begun to feel symptoms that led me to seek an urgent consultation with my heart specialist, and it was her view that it would be better for the sake of my health to step back from the show.”
