STING told ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly he isn’t planning on retiring any time soon as he shared some tips and tricks to retain a youthful appearance.
The Police frontman and now solo act appeared with Lorraine Kelly on Wednesday morning’s show to tease his new single, If It’s Love. The ITV presenter also pressed the rockstar, 70, on how he manages to stay looking so young and Sting was more than happy to provide viewers some advice.
Musician and actor Sting claimed yoga and vanity were key to his youthful appearance at the age of 70.
Fans of the seasoned rocker have been distracted by his various television appearances as he entered his seventh decade this month.
The star has recently been promoting his latest single ahead of the release of his next 15th studio album, with no signs of slowing down.
Lorraine asked: “You look great, what is it down to?”
To which Sting admitted: “Vanity. And a bit of discipline.”
The ITV host also recalled her guest’s preference for yoga to keep fit.
“I studied yoga for 30 years,” Sting recalled. “But everything becomes yoga after a while.”
Sting was introduced to the exercise by fellow musician Danny Paradise in 1990.
He explained he now gets his exercise elsewhere and still performs as often as possible.
“I swim everyday, I like to walk, and I sing,” he added.
However, even the most accomplished performers still have trouble as Sting admitted his voice was a little croaky before his appearance on Lorraine.
Lorraine denied his claims, but Sting joked: “You’re not supposed to sing before 12.”
Despite his 70 years, the star revealed he has no plans to stop performing just yet.
He told Lorraine he wasn’t ready to retire, so there could be even more projects from the musician in the future.
Sting has been previewing his latest album release, The Bridge, due to arrive on November 19.
His new single, If It’s Love, was released at the start of September and has now been accompanied by a new music video.
He also collaborated with various artists, such as Mary J Blige and Eric Clapton, for a new compilation album, Duets, released in March of this year.
The musician has also made a surprise cameo appearance in the Hulu murder-mystery comedy Only Murders in the Building,. “Brinkwire Summary News”.
