Sony’s one-hour State of Play has been ‘delayed’ until September, which is bad news for PS5 lovers.

Sony is rumored to be planning a one-hour event to show off new PlayStation games. However, fans of the PS4 and PS5 will be disappointed to learn that the big event has been pushed out from August to September.

Sony has had a series of State of Play events this year, but the company has yet to hold an E3-style event with a flurry of important announcements. Nintendo and Xbox have already held their most important event of the year, which was hosted during the E3 2021 expo. However, with Sony once again skipping the iconic event, there is still a lot we don’t know about the PlayStation maker’s plans for the PS4 and PS5.

Sony was rumored to be conducting a large State of Play event in August, with a webcast date of August 12 earlier suggested.

This information was obtained via leaker Roberto Serrano, who previously revealed the rescheduled date for the PS5 Future of Gaming event.

“Next PlayStation event should be in August, before Gamescom 2021, most likely in the first half of next month,” Serrano tweeted last month.

“I have the date, but it hasn’t been verified yet (I’ve just told a few individuals). Just be patient.”

In a subsequent update, Serrano added: ““PlayStation Event. August 12, 2021. 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET/11 p.m. CEST

“News on the forthcoming God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, PlayStation VR’s next generation, and more.”

However, Serrano recently claimed in a series of tweets that the next large PS5 event, which is rumored to last an hour, could potentially take place in September.

This comes after VentureBeat blogger Jeff Grubb stated that the release date for Horizon Forbidden West could be pushed out to 2022, which Blooberg’s Jason Schreier later confirmed.

Apart from confirming the Horizon Forbidden West delay, Grubb also hinted at a new State of Play being released in September.

Serrano responded by tweeting, “Jeff Grubb heard the next PlayStation event may be in September.”

“I’m waiting to hear back from my source. If that’s the case, it’s most likely because they wish to show more than is expected.”

A lesser State of Play may still take place in August, according to the leaker, but the main event appears to be set for September.

“So,.”Brinkwire Summary News,” Serrano tweeted.
