Slash of Guns N’ Roses remains enraged at Izzy Stradlin, saying, “He abandoned us to die.”

Slash of GUNS N’ ROSES recently discussed Izzy Stradlin’s abrupt departure in 1991, revealing that Stradlin thought “these guys are going to f**king die!”

When Izzy Stradlin famously left Guns N Roses in 1991, the band was on the verge of disbanding.

Slash recently expressed his own “resentment” over the split and the lingering “issues” between the two.

Not only that, but the guitarist also revealed that a new album is in the works after a long period of silence.

Finally, he discussed how working with Axl Rose today differs greatly from working with him in the past.

Slash didn’t hold back his thoughts on Stradlin’s departure in a powerful interview with Louder.

“At the time, [Stradlin’s] leaving wasn’t an issue,” Slash said.

“There was no judgment about any of that,” she continues.

Outside of being able to show up and do the job, I don’t believe anyone judged anyone else.

“I was resentful of that whole trip with Izzy leaving because whatever had happened for him that forced that sudden change, I was like, man, I died eighteen times before that! It didn’t faze me!” “But when he quit, he was looking at us and saying, ‘These guys are going to f**king die!’ My whole attitude was like, ‘I’ll get on with it.’

Don’t f**k with me.

‘I’ll make it work.’

“There was a sense of resentment there, as if I didn’t understand or appreciate where Izzy was coming from.”

In retrospect, I suppose I still feel the same way about it.

“Like, don’t be concerned about me.”

Fans hoped that Stradlin would rejoin the group when they reunited in 2016, and there was hope that he would.

Unfortunately, this did not come to pass, with Slash revealing that it was never going to happen in the first place.

The guitarist said he hasn’t “really talked to [Stradlin]” since 2016, implying that there were several “issues” that prevented a full reunion.

“We wanted it to work out, but we couldn’t seem to meet eye to eye on the whole thing,” Slash said.

It’s as simple as that.
