Simon ‘Wicksy’ Wicks, who left EastEnders 31 years ago, is unrecognizable.

In fresh photos taken 31 years after he waved goodbye to Albert Square, EastEnders veteran Nick Berry – who portrayed Simon ‘Wicksy Wicks’ – looks completely different.

Since leaving the BBC show, EastEnders icon Nick Berry has changed dramatically.

From 1985 until 1990, he was known for his role as Simon ‘Wicksy’ Wicks, and he became a bit of a pin-up.

However, new photos taken more than 30 years after he left Walford show him with grey hair and a big beard.

Nick, 58, had gone out for some shopping and was dressed in black trousers and a bright yellow coat, clutching what appeared to be bread. He also wore aviator sunglasses to keep the winter sun out of his eyes.

Nick began acting in the 1970s, but it wasn’t until he was cast as Albert Square’s Wicksy, the son of Pat Butcher, that he truly made a name for himself (Pam St Clement).

He was a fan favorite and the first real sex symbol on the show.

He departed the soap in 1990 after five years in the role, but he returned in 2012 for a brief stint in Walford.

On 1992, he was cast as PC Nick Rowan in Heartbeat, but he left in 1998.

His most recent notable television performance was in the murder drama In Deep, which ran from 2001 to 2003.

Nick had a musical career during his time on EastEnders, and his song Every Loser Wins reached number one in 1986.

After two albums, though, he seemed to fade away from the music world.

After then, the actor was occupied with raising his children.

In 2011, he told the Daily Mail: “I chose to be a stay-at-home dad and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

“I always said I’d go back when the boys were teenagers, but the longer you don’t do anything, the harder it is to get back into it, and I haven’t missed it much.

“While I’d never say never, I’m genuinely content with my current situation.”
