Finally, ahead of their release on History, the final episodes of the hit series Vikings premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
The show featured the main characters in all sorts of situations all over the world. One of the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), has come a long way since he was just a boy on his parents’ farm.
Fans can see the fate of Bjorn Ironside in Vikings Season 6B. Will he survive the war against the Russians? In a nostalgic post on Instagram recently, Ludwig, who plays the iconic character, posted a tribute to the movie.
[Spoiler Alert: This article includes “Vikings.” spoilers].
A long way has come for Bjorn Ironside,
As fans meet Bjorn for the first time, he is just a kid on the Ragnar and Lagerthaa family farm (Katheryn Winnick). As he journeys west and finds England, he watches his father rise to greatness. Challenges, however, arise between Ragnar and Haraldson, the local count (Gabriel Byrne). In the single fight against him, Ragnar wins and is proclaimed Count of Kattegat.
Further west, Bjorn’s father sails, making himself more and more of a legend.
But when he betrays Lagertha, Bjorn’s girlfriend, and impregnates Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland), Lagertha leaves Kattegat with him and her life.
Björn agrees to leave with his mother at the last moment, but, years later, he sees his father again when they help him take back Kattegat from Jarl Borg (Thorbjørn Harr).
After killing King Horik when the latter conspired to have him killed first, Ragnar is finally made King of Kattegat.
Bjorn has been living with his father for several years, with whom he goes on raids and battles as well. It is his father who gives him the name Ironside, and finally, not only as Ragnar’s son, but also as a fearsome warrior and world traveler, he makes a name for himself.
Björn became very famous, like his father, through raids in Paris and in England.
Bjorn and his brothers are seeking vengeance for the death of Ragnar Lothbrok.
Bjorn makes it to the Mediterranean, but when he discovers that his father was killed, he returns.
Bjorn and the Vikings, along with the Great Heathen Army, are waging war against England and taking vengeance for the death of Ragnar.
After King Ecbert (Linus Roache) turned him in (at Ragnar’s insistence), Bjorn’s father was murdered by King Aelle (Ivan Kaye).
In the Vikings, peace does not last long, and Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen), Bjorn’s brother, takes over Lagertha’s kingdom of Kattegat, after she takes it from his mother, Aslaug.
Eventually, Bjorn struggles to get back his brother’s Kattegat. He becomes the king of the Kattegat, but at a worse time, it could not have come.
Ivar allies with the Rus, and they conquer Scandinavia with Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) at their head.
Björn is stabbed to death on the beach by a supposed Ivar during the battle (though he should be somewhere else entirely at the time).
Alexander Ludwig publishes a tribute to the show
‘Vikings’: Alexander Ludwig exposes the primary life purpose of Bjorn Ironside
The full fate of Bjorn is uncertain until season 6B, the final season of the series. An epic tribute to the series was posted on Instagram on the day of the premiere, December 30, by Ludwig, who plays Bjorn. He added a series of photographs and, in honor of the series, posted a nostalgic note.
The first picture he shared shows Björn riding his horse after a pair of arrows struck him. He holds up the Kings’ Sword and appears hurt.
The next photo reveals a season 1 young Bjorn and the opposite photo is a season 6 full-grown Bjorn.
The third photo shows Bjorn holding up his sword, and in the last picture we see the iconic poster for the final episodes with the remaining sons of Ragnar.
Ludwig captioned the post on Instagram, “That’s it.
The final season is now streaming on Prime Video. We are so proud of our incredible cast and crew.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this incredible journey. It has been the greatest honor of my life to work on this series. See you in Valhalla @amazonprimevideo #vikings @historyvikings.”
What happens to Bjorn in season 6B?
Bjorn survives, but not for long. When season 6B resumes, he has been taken back to Kattegat and is badly wounded. However, he has King Hakon (Mishaël Lopes Cardozo) spread the rumor that Bjorn has already died.
Although Hakon is killed, the plan works, and when Björn rides out to meet the Rus, everyone is shocked to find him still alive. This frightens them, and when Ganbaatar (Andrei Claude), a captain in Oleg’s ar
