Season 6 of Peaky Blinders is scheduled to premiere in February.
PEAKY BLINDERS has been off the air for nearly two years, and fans are ready to see it again. Will season six, on the other hand, premiere in February 2022?
Peaky Blinders has been off the air since September 2019, yet the show is still going strong. The sixth season of the BBC sitcom has concluded filming, giving fans hope that Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) and the rest of the Shelby gang will be back soon. And now, new statements from Conrad Khan, a new season six cast member, imply that the wait is soon over.
Season six of Peaky Blinders has been a long and arduous road.
The production, which had been plagued by delays and mishaps during filming, recently announced that it had completed filming, much to the surprise of fans.
Now all that’s left is for the BBC to declare a release date, though there’s been no indication on when season six will air.
Initially, there were expectations that the show will return this year, but with the summer nearly finished and no new information, 2021 looks increasingly unlikely.
Fans need not despair, as the release date for the sixth and last season may have just been confirmed.
Conrad Khan, the show’s star, said in a recent interview with the Radio Times that season six could premiere in early 2022.
Khan will join the series as a new cast member for the final season in an unknown capacity.
“That comes out, from what I last heard – I mean, these things change so quickly – I believe that comes out next February, the beginning of next year,” Khan explained.
“Because there was so much video and so many episodes, it took a long time to edit – six months or so.”
Post-production might take anywhere from one month to six months or more.
This is determined by the size of the production, the money, the team, and the duration of the project.
Based on Khan’s words and the fact that season six is the show’s final season, a February release date for the show makes reasonable.
The plot of the previous season is unknown, but Khan will not be alone as a new cast member, since Code 404 and Save Me star Stephen Graham will also be in Birmingham.
Graham is portraying a character named “Brinkwire Summary News.”
