Season 5 of The Last Kingdom: Will Aelswith outlive Aethelflaed as fans discover a clue?

Season 5 of THE LAST KINGDOM is on its way to Netflix, and fans are eager to see how the series will conclude. Will Aelswith outlast Aethelflaed, her daughter?

Season five of The Last Kingdom will premiere on Netflix soon, and fans were disappointed to learn that it would be the final season. The historical drama is based on Bernard Cornwell’s The Saxon Stories, and the last installment will conclude Uhtred of Bebbanburg’s (Alexander Dreymon) saga. He broke his romance with Aethelflaed (Millie Brady) in season four, and viewers are concerned that the Lady of Mercia may die.

When Uhtred and Aethelflaed terminated all love ties in the fourth season of The Last Kingdom, viewers were devastated.

Aethelflaed pledged to “stay pure” and avoid any romances in order to protect her position as ruler of Mercia.

Uhtred aided Aethelflaed and her brother Edward (Timothy Innes) in saving Winchester after the Danish siege near the conclusion of the season.

Aelswith (Eliza Butterworth), Aethelflaed’s mother, was being held hostage along with other members of their family.

Lord Aethelhelm (Adrian Schiller) poisoned her in the season finale, and her fate was unknown.

Aelswith has been seen alive in a promotional photo for the final season, indicating that she has survived her experience.

She is, however, dressed in a dark cloak and wearing a mournful expression in the photograph.

In a devastating twist, many have suggested that Aelswith would outlive her daughter on the social media network Reddit.

“Seems like Aelswith will outlast her daughter, which I find strange; nothing against Eliza, but her tale looked to be done in season four,” one fan remarked. [Sic]

“I’m quite confident she’ll be the reason why Aelswith and her granddaughter are dressed in black in this bts photo,” they continued, expanding on their notion. [Sic]

They then shared a link to the show’s Instagram page, where a snapshot of Aelswith appearing distressed can be found.

They applauded the hair and cosmetics department for capturing Aelswith’s aging, which has been accelerated by her husband Alfred’s death (David Dawson).

“I genuinely hope that Aelswith will stay alive #wewanttlkseason6,” one fan said.

The series is based on historical individuals, and the genuine Ealhswith passed away in December 902.

Her daughter Aethelflaed died 16 years after her mother, in June 918.

If the series “Brinkwire Summary News” is any indication, keep this in mind.
