Season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale: June and Luke’s breakup is “cemented” after the final scene
THE HANDMAID’S TALE has finished their suspenseful season, and many are speculating that the next installment will feature the end of June and Luke.
June Osborne (played by Elisabeth Moss) finally got her revenge for the abuse she suffered in Gilead in the recent season finale of Hulu’s dystopian series. June’s marriage to husband Luke Bankole (O.T. Fagbenle) is expected to end in the upcoming season of The Handmaid’s Tale, according to fans.
June was forced to be a Handmaid in Gilead for over seven years after they took power.
Because she was fertile and married to a divorced guy, she was ideal because divorce was illegal in the state, making her an adultery.
Season one demonstrated how far Gilead’s officials will go, ripping June’s daughter, Hannah Bankole (Jordana Blake), from her arms and shooting Luke as the family attempted to flee the country.
Luke and June waged the same battle throughout their stay in Gilead, attempting to reunite their families.
June made many attempts to flee Gilead with Hannah after she was placed in a home with another family.
When June was confronted by cruel disciplinarian Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd), she faced a harsher penalty after each failed effort.
Luke spent his time in Canada campaigning against Gilead while not knowing if his wife and daughter were still alive.
However, in season one, he received confirmation and subsequently reconnected with June’s best friend Moira Strand (Samira Wiley), who had fled, to battle for the liberation of the Gilead women.
June successfully escaped to Canada and was reunited with Luke in the poignant season four episode Vows.
Rather than jumping for delight, June sobbed as he apologized for returning without Hannah, assuring her that they would locate her together.
June struggled to adjust to normal life during the most recent season, and there was an obvious breach between the couple.
She was filled with an unusual fury for Gilead’s founders, and she kept Luke at a distance when it came to the facts of the brutality she had suffered there.
June ultimately got her revenge on her kidnapper, Fred Waterford, in the season finale (Joseph Fiennes). He was detained in Canada and acquitted after providing inside knowledge, despite delivering a witness evidence in court. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
