Season 23 of Law & Order SVU: Will Stabler leave Organized Crime following his break-up with Benson?

Fans of Law & Order: SVU have been yearning for a romance between former partners Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler for almost 20 years, but a new hypothesis does not predict a happy ending following two images of actors Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay on set.

Law and Order: SVU fans have been scratching their heads since Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) reunited in season 22 of the NBC smash drama, Law and Order: SVU fans have been wondering if a romance is on the horizon in the future. Following a hopeful finish, two recent images of the actors on set have fans worried that a break-up could force Stabler to leave Organized Crime.

Mariska Hargitay’s on-set images were posted a few weeks ago, sending fans into a frenzy because her wardrobe appeared to hint that the season 23 premiere would directly follow Finn’s (Ice-T) wedding in the season 22 finale.

Viewers speculated why there wouldn’t be a time leap next season after seeing Benson in the same gown he wore during the wedding.

Viewers had hoped that the lack of a time leap means that Benson and Stabler would marry in season 23 and that something will happen between them after the wedding.

However, another photo of Stabler with a full beard and wearing a New York Fire Department uniform was recently leaked.

Fans are now wondering if the two may break up in the upcoming season, prompting Stabler to leave Organized Crime to avoid seeing her.

Stabler has had multiple cross-overs with his former squad since star Meloni returned to the Law and Order franchise earlier this year in a spin-off series.

Despite working on separate task groups, the two encounter each other frequently.

So, could Stabler’s decision to leave Organized Crime and become a fireman be the only way for him to get over his breakup?

Stabler’s new profession as a firefighter makes sense for him because it feeds his desire to serve people.

But, if Stabler leaves Organized Crime, how will he fare?

Stabler’s wife Kathy (Isabel Gillies) was murdered by crime boss Richard Wheatley in the series premiere of the sequel series (Dylan McDermott).

The former detective joined the elite task group out of a thirst for vengeance. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
