Russell Crowe once purchased Leonardo DiCaprio’s dinosaur head

Russell Crowe is renowned for being one of Hollywood’s most talented actors, but few know how devoted he is to making his kids happy.

In reality, he loves them so much that he ends up buying a dinosaur head for Leonardo DiCaprio just for them.

Russell Crowe purchased Leonardo DiCaprio’s dinosaur head

The bad temper of Russell Crowe once landed him a felony charge,

While hanging out with his friend DiCaprio, Crowe became interested in the dinosaur first.

When Crowe drunkenly wanted to buy the dinosaur skull, the two enjoyed a few drinks at DiCaprio’s place.

During a visit to the Howard Stern Show, he remembered the incident.

“I don’t remember, but I bought it for my kids,” said Crowe. “And there was a lot of vodka involved in that deal, cutting me some slack.

And it happened in the house of Leonardo.’

The dinosaur head was sold by Leonardo DiCaprio because he wanted another one.

While his beloved dinosaur head was very fond of DiCaprio, there was another one he was more interested in. However, he would have to sell the old one first before he would be able to purchase the new head.

“I think he started the conversation because he said, ‘I have this one, but there’s another one coming on the market that I really want, so I’m trying to sell this one,'” added Crowe. “I said, ‘I’ll buy it.'”

The dinosaur head was purchased by Russell Crowe for a hefty amount.

Even though a dinosaur head costing several hundred thousand dollars is easy to picture, DiCaprio sold it for far less.

For the artifact, Crowe ended up plunking down about $30,000.

“He was pretty cool about it, he said, ‘Just give me what I paid for it,’ and I think he paid about 30 or 35 grand or so.”

Relatively speaking, Stern was shocked to hear how little it cost Crowe.

But it was because the head was not from one of the most respected dinosaurs out there, such as the T-Rex, that Crowe explained.

“It wasn’t a very popular dinosaur,” said Crowe.

Regardless of the cost, Crowe said his only intention was to satisfy his kids when buying it.

“Part of the reason I bought it was because my kids, especially my oldest, were fascinated with dinosaurs when I bought it, around 2008 or 2009. So here’s one, here’s one for the playroom.”

The dinosaur head was auctioned off by Russell Crowe to pay for his divorce.

While the dinosaur head was very much liked by his kids, Crowe finally had to auction it off to raise some money for his divorce.

While he paid only $30,000 for it, after the sale, its value has risen significantly.

“I think it’s almost doubled since I sold it,” Crowe said.

If he had done ‘King of the Rings’ he might have had a lot more money for the divorce.

Later in the discussion, Stern brought up the fact that in “Lord of the Rings,” Crowe had turned down a starring role that would potentially have made him an insane amount of money.

He could have made over $100 million because he would have been entitled to 10 percent of the film’s income.

Everybody chuckled and joked that he wouldn’t have had to sell off the dinosaur head if he had made the movie and his life would probably have been a little different.

“You could have kept your dinosaur head,” said Stern.

Crowe shot back, “Or bought the rest of the dinosaur!”
