Rose Ayling-Ellis of Strictly speaks up about her training issues, saying, “I don’t have a choice!”
Rose Ayling-Ellis, the star of STRICTLY COME DANCING, has spoken up about the challenges she had while preparing for the show.
Rose Ayling-Ellis’ skills in the renowned Strictly Come Dancing ballroom have wowed spectators. This year, the EastEnders actress made Strictly history as the first deaf celebrity to compete on the BBC show. She performed a Samba and a Jive throughout the first two weeks of the competition. However, the singer has recently spoken out about the challenges of training, emphasizing the importance of lifts.
Rose is paired with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, and the two were introduced on Monday night’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two.
The duo spoke with host Rylan Clark-Neal about their latest explosive Samba, which they performed to Cuba on Saturday night with The Gibson Brothers.
Rylan interrogated the pair about some of the spectacular lifts they performed, eager to learn more about the dance.
“Rose?” he inquired. I know you’re an adrenaline addict, but were you concerned at all when Gio mentioned performing all of the lifts?” “To be honest, I became extremely thrilled, and then when Gio told me about this one where I jump in front of him with nothing to hold on to but my feet out…” Rose answered. “And you trust him?” Rylan asked, interrupting. “I actually do,” says the speaker. “I mean, I don’t have much of a choice,” Rose observed.
“No, you don’t,” Rylan acknowledged, bursting out laughing. You don’t have any other option.” “As a result, I just jump up.” But, thankfully, we had a choreographer come in, so they were prepared,” she continued.
Giovanni congratulated Rose for her hard effort thus far in the competition, pointing out that she’s had to tackle various difficult dance genres.
“Week one Jive, Week two Salsa,” he said. “She’s going for it!” exclaims the narrator. “In my first two weeks, he pushed me hard to do the Jive and the Salsa,” Rose added.
For Strictly’s movie week next weekend, the soap star will try out a new type of dancing.
Rose and Giovanni will perform a Foxtrot inspired by the Academy Award-winning film Titanic.
“It’s something I’m looking forward to.” It’ll be interesting to see a new side of myself. “I think it’s a little more elegant,” Rose commented.
