Roman Reigns of WWE does not consider AEW to be a competitor.

Roman Reigns’ reign as WWE Universal Champion continues, and he is due to defend his title against previous long-time champion Brock Lesnar at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view event. Reigns spoke with Fightful about All Elite Wrestling, the professional wrestling organization that is the largest contender to World Wrestling Entertainment in the battle for supremacy, albeit the AEW still has some distance to make up on its adversary.

Regarding how he perceives All Elite Wrestling not currently being competition to the WWE roster of performers, Reigns had this to say:

“No. I don’t think so, at least not for me. This is one of those topics where there is a lot of passion and tribalism, which truly sways and creates an unbiased opinion. However, I can only speak from my own experience. I’m the type of man who will compete in any situation. ‘I bet you I can eat that cookie faster,’ for example. I aspire to be the best in whatever I choose to accomplish. I’m going to beat you. We pull up on lawn mowers, chop the yard in half, and I’m going to defeat you. My side will be more appealing than yours. So, for me, I don’t consider AEW as a true competitor since I believe their fan base is genuinely dedicated. As a result, that viewership has a ceiling and a built-in ground.” Using this as a springboard, Roman went into detail regarding World Wrestling Entertainment’s strategy for attracting casual viewers, whilst All Elite is geared toward a more affluent audience “hardcore fanbase,”:”WWE is seeking to reach out to everyone. We’re attempting to reach out to the general public. We’re attempting to attract the casual fan. We’re attempting to entice new viewers while simultaneously catering to our ardent fans and providing them with intriguing content to keep them entertained. I don’t know if I’ve stated it before, but I think it’s strange because the audience is arguably the most important character in your play.” What are your thoughts on Reigns’ stance on the AEW?
