Roger Allam, the star of ENDEAVOUR, has hinted that there would be additional seasons of the popular show.

On ITV’s Lorraine on Wednesday, the actor who plays detective inspector Fred Thursday discussed the impending series, as well as whether or not more episodes of the prequel to the long-running Inspector Morse will be filmed. Lorraine pressed the 67-year-old about the possibility of a second season of the popular show, and Roger’s enigmatic response seemed to imply a possible yes, which will delight fans of the ITV drama.

“There’s always been tension” between the show’s two key characters, Thursday and Morse, according to the actor.

“But this time, Endeavour is facing a major issue because the lady he loved died in his arms at the end of the previous season.

“And this sends him on a path of regret and binge drinking, and he sort of loses the plot.”

Lorraine Kelly remarked on the series’ success, “10 years, for goodness sake!”

“Did you ever imagine it would be 10 years later when you signed the dotted line for the first series?”

The Game of Thrones star admitted, “I absolutely did not.”

“At first, they wanted for three years, but my heart fell, and I only consented to do two.

“But they’ve just done it year by year since then, which I believe has made both myself and Shaun [Evans] more comfortable with continuing with it.

“In addition, filming only takes up 20 weeks of the year when we do four films.”

“And there’s plenty of time to do other things when we only work three, fifteen weeks a year.”

Because of the “loving attention to detail,” Lorraine says the series installments are like movies.

Roger noted, “The art department performs an outstanding job.”

He added that it was a “big job” to make the sets look like they were from the 1960s and 1970s.

Endeavour aired in 2012, and fans have been following Inspector Morse’s past cases ever since.

The crime series is set before Colin Dexter’s fictitious detective, Inspector Morse, and stars John Thaw as Colin Dexter.

The actual concern on Lorraine’s mind, though, was whether or not the smash series would be renewed.

“Are you going to see anything else?” “I’m crossing my fingers,” she said.

“Well, I don’t know what to say. “Brinkwire Summary News,” I believe it is.
