Roddy Ricch, a musical guest on ‘SNL,’ has withdrawn, and a replacement has been named.

Roddy Ricch, a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, has withdrawn from the show, and a replacement has been announced.

The musical guest for Saturday Night Live’s first episode of 2022 was supposed to be rapper Roddy Ricch, with West Side Story star Ariana DeBose hosting.

Unfortunately for Ricch’s fans, he had to cancel the show after being exposed to COVID. Instead, Bleachers, the indie band fronted by Jack Antonoff, will take the stage.

“I won’t be able to perform on SNL this weekend due to recent COVID exposure on my team and to keep everyone safe,” Ricch wrote in an Instagram Story post on Wednesday.

“However, I’m working with the SNL team to set a new date! Love…

Ricch’s first appearance on SNL was supposed to be this week.

See you on Saturday!

The cast of Saturday Night Live did not have to look far for a replacement act.

The show updated its lineup for Saturday’s show a few moments after Ricch made his statement, including Bleachers as the musical guest.

Antonoff, who previously appeared on SNL in 2012 as a member of the band fun, leads Bleachers.

Scarlett Johansson hosted the event in March 2017, and Antonoff performed with Lorde.

Antonoff formed Bleachers in 2014 and has so far released three albums under the moniker.

Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night, published in July 2021, is the most recent.

The singles “45,” “Chinatown,” “Stop Making This Hurt,” and “How Dare You Want More” are among the album’s highlights.

Until the final episode of 2021, SNL Season 47 had been running smoothly.

Lorne Michaels and his team put together a special episode due to the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.

Paul Rudd continued to host and was inducted into the Five Timers Club, but only Michael Che and Kenan Thompson remained on set.

Tina Fey and Tom Hanks, who were in attendance for Rudd’s induction into the Five Timers, made cameo appearances and assisted in the introduction of previous holiday sketches.

Weekend Update was also a collaboration between Fey and Che.

Charli XCX canceled her live shows, but she did appear in a pre-recorded sketch.

SNL airs at 11:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

NBC previously announced that new SNL episodes would air in January.
