Richard E Grant shares his late wife’s final message, “Try to Find Happiness.”

RICHARD E GRANT has opened up about the message that his late wife left for him.

Later today, Richard E Grant will appear as a guest on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel to assist a contestant in winning big.

Richard has been sharing memories of his late wife with fans outside of his work on screen in recent months.

Richard, an Oscar nominee, is well-known for his acting career.

Although, in September, he suffered a personal tragedy when his wife Joan Washington died of lung cancer.

The couple had been married for 38 years and had one child together.

Richard revealed her final message to him as he reflected on her death at the end of 2021.

The star of Withnail and I told his 282,000 Twitter followers about it in a video.

“Just before she died, she said to me, ‘You’re going to be alright,'” he said.

“‘Try to find a smidgeon of joy in every day.’

“And I’m just grateful for the nearly four decades we spent together.”

“Then there’s our daughter, who is a gift.”

He also described his lockdown as a “blessing in disguise” because it allowed him to spend more time with his wife.

“Lockdown last year turned out to be a blessing in disguise,” Richard continued.

“Because after a 38-year marriage, my wife and I spent nine months with each other every single minute of the day.”

“Then we spent the last eight months of her life together this year for eight months.”

Richard wrote to his fans alongside his video, “And so on that note, HAPPY NEW YEAR!”

“Let’s hope for a Covid-free 2022.”

Richard also sent an emotional birthday message to his and Joan’s daughter.

Richard opened up about her childhood, calling her his “supreme and perfect being.”

“Our miracle daughter was finally born 33 years ago today,” he said in a video to Olivia.

“She completely and utterly changed our lives, and we’re grateful for every moment she gives us.”

Richard will be on the BBC tonight as he takes on The Wheel’s challenge.

Saffron Barker, David Haye, Anneka Rice, Danny Jones, Jo Brand, and Melvin Odoom will all be performing tonight.
