Rhod Gilbert replaces Nick Knowles on DIY SOS and speaks out “for those concerned.”

NICK KNOWLES has spoken out about Rhod Gilbert filling in for him on a DIY SOS Children In Need show.

Nick Knowles, 58, informed followers that he thinks Rhod Gilbert, 52, a television and radio host, will do a “fantastic job” in the upcoming show. When it comes to Hull in September, the latter will perform the Children In Need special.

“Rhod is a terrific bloke and I’m sure will do a great job @BBCCiN and @DIYSOS,” Nick commented on Twitter today in response to the news.

“I encourage you all to get behind this year’s Big Build, which I am confident will be just as amazing and significant for those involved as every previous year,” he added.

Rhod will work alongside Mark Millar, Chris Freidiani, Jules Perryman, and Billy Byrne, as well as playground engineer John O’Driscoll, on the program.

Local tradespeople and volunteers will be featured on the show as they embark on a project to promote the physical and emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people in Hull and the surrounding areas.

Demi Rose flaunts her assets in an eye-popping show.

“It’s a huge honour to walk into Nick’s enormous steel toe-capped boots and be involved in Children in Need,” Rhod remarked of joining the show.

“I’m excited to join the infamous DIY SOS team and gather a massive community of local volunteers to help with a fantastically ambitious and vital project.

“I’m expecting to be of some assistance around the site after trying my hand at over 30 jobs on my ‘Work Experience’ TV show.

“Bring it on, because my vis is high and my hat is hard.”

The DIY SOS crew will aim to transform a vacant two-and-a-half-acre field into an adventurous camping site for St Michael’s Youth Project with the support of trade volunteers in the special.

A field kitchen, a landscaped campfire, a pizza oven, an external covered classroom, a mountain bike course, a bird observation tower, an adventure playground, a toilet and shower block, and a storage unit are among the amenities planned by those participating.

Nick will miss the special because it falls on the same day as his appearance in a Shreddies commercial.

The broadcaster was chastised by BBC bosses for appearing in a cereal commercial as a builder who assists a family with their home.
