Daniel Craig will star in No Time To Die, his fifth and last James Bond film, in just a few weeks. Following that, the 007 producers will launch casting calls for the next actor to take on the role of James Bond. For the past few years, speculation has been prevalent, and two of the bookies’ favorites are Regé-Jean Page and Tom Hardy.
Caroline Munro, who co-starred alongside the late 007 actor in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me, was recently interviewed by this website.
“Oh my goodness!” the 72-year-old exclaimed of the next Bond. I’m not sure how things will turn out this time.
“Daniel Craig will be a difficult act to follow. “I believe the next person has to be a classic Englishman.”
Caroline nodded enthusiastically as Regé-Jean Page, the star of Bridgeton, was cited as one of the favorites. “Beautiful man!” she said.
“I love Tom Hardy as an actor,” the star of The Spy Who Loved Me stated of the next Bond favorite.
“I think he’s amazing. For me, he fits the Daniel Craig mold.”
Caroline has backed both Page and Hardy, but she is also open to someone who isn’t a famous name portraying 007 next.
After all, before becoming a major A-lister, Craig was known as “the guy from Layer Cake and Tomb Raider” when he was introduced as the next Bond in 2005.
Caroline pondered, “Yeah, maybe a completely new one.” I’m not sure how old I am.
“The late thirties are ideal since that is when James Bond would have entered the Navy.”
Of all, for this Bond lady, who adored Sir Roger, there can only be one 007 in the end.
“I had the privilege of working with Roger, one of the kindest individuals you could possibly meet,” she remarked. Such a caring gentleman who is also quite amusing and smart. Quick-witted. And the rest of the staff adored him!”
Caroline continued, “He was completely Bond.” He was in his element, he really understood James Bond, and he was fantastic. Very enthralling and beautiful. He was the perfect Bond, and he’ll always be my Bond. “You’re a lovely man.”
