Ree Drummond of ‘The Pioneer Woman’ gives a classic old-school appetizer a fun upgrade.

The classic pigs in a blanket appetizer gets a fun pizza makeover from Ree Drummond, and it’s the perfect bite-size snack. The Pioneer Woman star revealed a simple dish that saves time by using store-bought conveniences.

The pizza pigs in a blanket recipe from Ree Drummond is a fun take on a classic.

Mini cocktail weiners are wrapped in crescent rolls, coated with butter, and baked as pigs in a blanket.

Drummond took a classic appetizer and gave it a pizza-flavored twist, and it’s quite simple to make.

On an episode of The Pioneer Woman, Drummond started with a disclaimer before showing how to create her quick pizza pigs in a blanket recipe. “I just use — not particularly impressive, but very convenient — pizza dough in a roll from the refrigerated aisle,” she said. “Everyone understands what I’m talking about.” She patted the pizza dough into a 14-by-10-inch rectangle after opening the can, then sliced it into 32 rectangles.

Drummond covered each rectangle with a dollop of marinara sauce, a piece of mozzarella, a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes, and a slice of pepperoni to make the appetizer. She rolled the dough around a little hot dog and set it seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking pan.

The Pioneer Woman star brushed an egg wash over each rolled-up goodie before topping it with parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning “for a little crust.” She cooked the appetizers for 15 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit, then arranged them on a tray and served them with a marinara dipping sauce. “It’s fantastic for watching football on TV,” she said. “It can be used for anything.” The whole recipe can be seen on the Food Network website.

Drummond stumbled into a simple pizza roll recipe.

Drummond revealed how she made the “crazy rolls” with leftover cinnamon roll dough in a 2016 blog post on The Pioneer Woman website. Drummond writes, “I was working with no recipe whatsoever, and had no plan.” “It took me approximately 5 minutes to come up with the concept. Like my decision to start a blog ten years ago.” “I determined that the next time I make these babies, I will use a true… Brinkwire Entertainment short news.” The Pioneer Woman star discovered that the dough wasn’t quite right for the pizza rolls and shared, “I determined that the next time I make these babies, I will use a true… Brinkwire Entertainment short news.”
