Property: The UK’s most quiet towns – Scotland takes the lead

Despite the coronavirus outbreak, the UK property market has exploded in recent months. So, where in the UK are the most calm locations for a more peaceful lifestyle?

As more people began working from home this year, property regulations have changed. During the pandemic, commuting to cities became a thing of the past, with many people setting up home offices to work. Most house buyers are prioritizing more space, more rooms, and gardens.

As purchasers hunt for property outside of cities, country and beach regions have become increasingly desirable.

So, where in the UK are the most quiet towns to buy a home?

With an overall index score of 57 out of 100, North Berwick, a beach town in East Lothian, Scotland, was named the most quiet town in the UK.

The town is about 20 miles east-northeast of Edinburgh, on the south bank of the Firth of Forth.

However, according to Rightmove, the general average price of a home in the area has increased by £434,243 in the last year.

Comparing the previous year to the previous year, sold prices in the area increased by 4%.

They were also up 9% from the previous high of £399,508.

According to the Delamere Health research, Melrose and Lewes were also among the most calm places in the UK.

The study assigned a final score out of 100 to a list of popular UK towns based on ten different variables.

The number of cafes and spas, population, green space, beaches, walking trails, libraries, museums, crime, and nightlife were all used to determine how peaceful a town is.

With 51 votes, Ilkley, Yorkshire, came in second, followed by Melrose, Scotland, with 50.

According to Rightmove, the average price of a home in Ilkley over the last year was £484,709.

The majority of properties sold in Ilkley last year were detached homes, with an average price of £744,256.

In the meantime, terraced houses sold for an average of £377,194, with flats selling for £259,512.

Property prices in Melrose, Scotland, on the other hand, are a little more cheap and have actually declined over the last year.

Over the last year, the average price of homes in Melrose has been £205,791.
