Pre-order date and price for Playdate: Prepare your wallets for a revolutionary NEW portable system.
PLAYDATE is a completely new handheld device with a one-of-a-kind appearance and distribution system.
Pre-orders for the brand new Playdate portable system will be available soon.
The colorful new console, which was announced in 2019, looks a lot like the Game Boy Advance SP, but without the flip-up screen.
The inclusion of a crank controller on the side of the machine is what really sets it apart. In some games, this can be used to scroll through text and control characters.
Customers who subscribe to Playdate will receive two free games per week for a total of 12 weeks.
The official description reads, “That’s 24 free games across a variety of genres.” “Some of them are brief. Some of them are quite lengthy. Will you be able to love them all? Most likely not. Will you have a blast trying them out? Absolutely.”
When not being utilized to play games, the Playdate also functions as a clock.
If you’re interested in purchasing one, the groundbreaking Playdate console will be available in late 2021.
If you want one this year, you’ll need to pre-order sooner rather than later due to a limited availability at launch.
The Playdate will be available for pre-order on July 29 at 6 p.m. BST in the United Kingdom.
The first batch of 20,000 Playdate consoles will be delivered in 2021, with additional orders being fulfilled in 2022, according to the company behind the system.
Customers who pre-purchase the console must pay in full, however if you decide to cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.
If the system proves popular, the company will raise manufacturing, so fingers crossed there won’t be any PS5-style stock shortages.
The Playdate costs $179 in the United States, which translates to roughly £130 in the United Kingdom.
The console will come with a stereo speaker (that also serves as a charger) and a magnetic cover. Both of these items will have to be ordered separately.
Unfortunately for some fans, the Playdate will only be offered in a few countries at first.
The United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Australia, and Canada are all included. The complete list of nations that are supported may be found below…
