‘Power Book IV: Force’: Joseph Sikora Calls Being Recognized as Tommy a ‘Badge of Honor.’

Joseph Sikora has thrived as Tommy Egan since the pilot episode of Power debuted in 2014. Quick-tempered and menacing, Tommy embraced the chaos and violence of his work while his best friend James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) tried to run from it.

Since then, Sikora hasn’t been seen as anyone other than Power. However, the actor says he loves being known for the character and he wouldn’t want it any other way.

What is the release date for ‘Power Book IV: Force’?

The release date for the Tommy Egan-led Power Book IV: Force is quickly approaching.

Though Starz has not yet announced an exact release date, we do know that the new series is set to drop in early 2022. “It definitely is in terms of its violence and sexuality very old school Power,”  Power Universe creator Courtney Kemp told Deadline.

Sikora is also loving this new journey that his character is on. “It’s really f—ing good,” he told Entertainment Weekly of the upcoming series. “People are going to love it. think that it’s going to take all facets of Tommy that we’ve built up to until now to not only survive but to potentially thrive — and to potentially leave. You don’t know if it’s going to be one city and then another city and if he’s going to keep bopping or what connections need to be made.”

Joseph Sikora says its a badge of honor to be recognized as Tommy

Sikora has worked in Hollywood for years before embodying Tommy on Power. However, even when he was in the most recent season of Ozark, people recognized the Chicago-born actor as Tommy. While some actors are terrified of being typecast, Sikora says he wears it as a badge of honor.

“I take the role of Tommy and being always recognized as Tommy in some ways as a badge of honor,” he told XXL Magazine. “I think that the Black community specifically, calls out bullsh*t pretty quickly and if I didn’t have my “T’s” crossed and my “I’s” dotted and I didn’t bring truth to that character then the character would not have been accepted. Period. So that’s better than any award.”

Now that Tommy is headed to Chicago, which is still one of the… Brinkwire Entertainment short news.
