Oti Mabuse of Strictly Come Dancing will host a new ITV dating show called Romeo And Duet.
In the new ITV series Romeo And Duet, Oti Mabuse of Strictly Come Dancing will help singletons find love.
The dating show will be hosted by the Masked Dancer and Dancing On Ice judge, and it will feature hopeful romantics serenading potential partners on a balcony.
The contestant will be able to hear but not see the singer, and will have to assess the potential suitor solely on the basis of their vocal abilities.
After luring a contestant down from the balcony, the singer and the contestant will record a duet and compete against other singing couples to win the seven-part series.
After appearing as a professional dancer on Strictly since 2015, Oti makes her presenting debut.
With Kelvin Fletcher in 2019 and Bill Bailey in 2020, she has won the show twice.
Last year’s series of Strictly could be her final, according to the 31-year-old.
“I’m ecstatic,” she exclaimed.
Hosting has always been a dream of mine, so this is a true pinch-me moment for me.
“To finally be able to share this news is a blessing for me.”
I’m excited to get started on this project, which is about love with a twist and a showcase of talent.
I’m hoping everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
Oti, who married dancer Marius Lepure in 2014, was a judge on the BBC dating show I Like The Way U Move, which paired professional dancers with non-dancers in search of love.
“Oti is the perfect choice to host this entertaining cross between music and matchmaking,” said Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV.
The series Romeo And Duet will premiere later this year, with production beginning this month.
