One of the main reasons why Rockstar Games isn’t rushing GTA 6.

The release date for GTA 6 is expected to be “several years” away. While this may be aggravating for Grand Theft Auto fans, it appears that there is one major reason why Rockstar Games isn’t rushing to release the next GTA game.

It’s been almost eight years since GTA 5 was released, and it appears like the wait for GTA 6 will last at least another few years. With the forthcoming release of GTA 5 Enhanced and Expanded Edition for next-gen platforms, it appears that a release date of 2021 for GTA 6 is essentially ruled out. Tom Henderson, a well-known industry insider, recently delivered a GTA 6 bombshell.

In June, the leaker, who is most known for his Battlefield and Call of Duty leaks, released a YouTube video that revealed a slew of new details.

GTA 6 was rumored to be set in modern-day Vice City, would be exclusive to next-gen consoles, and might be released as early as 2025 – however a 2024 release is most likely.

Henderson echoed this message when Take Two’s latest financial results were revealed earlier this week, saying GTA 6 is “a few years away.”

The financial report also disclosed one major reason why Rockstar may be content to wait to release GTA 6.

GTA Online earns about a quarter of a billion dollars per quarter, according to Henderson.

Despite the fact that GTA 5 and GTA Online are almost eight years old, this is still the case.

“GTA V generates roughly a quarter of a billion dollars in revenue per quarter,” Henderson tweeted.

“Epic Games’ decision to release GTA V for free alongside the epidemic has resulted in GTA V earning more each quarter since its release in 2013.”

“It’ll be a while before GTA VI comes out.”

In addition, a survey by examined the top grossing video games that had year-over-year growth.

The Sims 4, Pokemon Go, League of Legends, and Candy Crush Saga were all ranked higher than GTA V.

According to the research, GTA V’s annual income in 2020 was $911,000,000, up 53.11 percent from the previous year.

That’s an unbelievable amount of money for such an old game to still be taking in.

GTA V was making, according to the report. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
