On One Condition, Jonah Hill Says He Will Star in ‘Superbad 2’

Jonah Hill has a plot idea for a Superbad sequel, but he has one stipulation if the movie is ever made.

In a new interview with W Magazine, the Don’t Look Up star says that when he’s in his 80s, he’d like to star in a Superbad sequel.

Hill stated, “I haven’t pitched this to anyone.”

“When we’re like 80, I want to do a Superbad sequel.”

Our spouses die, and we’re single once more, like in ‘old-folks-home Superbad.’

That’s what I want Superbad 2 to be, and it’s the only way I’m going to get it done.”

According to Variety, the first film, which was released in 2007, debuted to massive box office success.

The comedy grossed a whopping (dollar)170 million worldwide, prompting speculation about a possible sequel.

In a 2020 interview with LADBible, Seth Rogen discussed the possibility, saying that he feels the pressure of a sequel not living up to the original’s legacy.

“To be honest, I don’t think it needs any work,” Rogen said.

In addition to co-writing and starring in the film, the comedian also co-wrote and produced it.

“I’m ecstatic.

People still watch it, and high school students approach me to tell me how much they enjoyed it the first time they saw it.

It’s become one of the better high school films available.

I’d never do it because I’m terrified of taking anything away from it with a bad sequel or spinoff.

“I’m terrified to fuck with the ones I have because I have so few actual good accomplishments,” he explained.

“If there was a way to do it, [a female version]would be the way, for sure,” another co-star Christopher Mintz-Plasse said. However, there was a major snag in the plans, “I’ve heard from some of the people who made the first one, and I don’t think they want to touch it.”
