On Instagram, Elton John announces the release of a new lockdown album.
SIR Elton John did not let the turbulence of Covid ruin his art; instead, the Rocket Man singer exploited stay-at-home constraints to create an album. 16 tracks are included in The Lockdown Sessions, including duets with Stevie Wonder, Dua Lipa, and Brandi Carlile.
Sir Elton, 74, who listed other contributors on Instagram with a rhinestone star logo, including Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj, declared yesterday that he had no plans to release another song.
“As the pandemic progressed, one-off projects started popping up,” he continued.
“Some of the recording sessions had to be done remotely, via Zoom, which I had no experience with.”
“However, all of the tracks I worked on were extremely interesting and diversified, something that was absolutely different from anything I’m known for, material that pulled me out of my comfort zone and into completely new territory,” he continued.
The Lockdown Sessions, which was released on October 22, includes both newly recorded pieces and music that Sir Elton worked on during the pandemic’s constraints.
