On Independence Day, double-jabbed Britons are warmly welcomed in Ireland.
From Monday, July 19th, dubbed “Freedom Day,” fully vaccinated British citizens will be allowed to enter Ireland without restrictions.
Travelers from the United Kingdom who have got both vaccinations will not be required to take a covid test before entering or leaving the country. They won’t have to keep anything in quarantine, either.
Those who aren’t twice vaccinated, on the other hand, will need a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival.
If their second PCR test is negative, they must self-isolate for a minimum of five days. Ireland’s Health Service Executive is in charge of this.
Travellers who test positive on their second PCR test will be subjected to a 14-day quarantine.
“We’re glad to reveal this adjustment in arrangements to welcome British visitors to Ireland from July 19,” said Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland.
“Everyone has been affected by the Covid pandemic, and these improvements will allow many people to reconnect with family and friends in ways that haven’t been possible in a long time.
“To protect the safety of both our guests and hospitality staff, Ireland’s tourism industry has established a safety charter.”
“All of our British friends,” Gibbons said, “have a safe and pleasurable stay to Ireland.”
Children under the age of 12 will no longer be required to take a negative PCR test before visiting Ireland as of July 19.
Those aged 12 to 17 who have not been double-jabbed, on the other hand, will be required to show proof of a negative test before entering the nation.
The Irish government approved legislation yesterday that allows restaurants, taverns, and cafés to serve clients indoors if they can show they’ve had both vaccines.
Indoor hospitality is also available to those who have recovered from Covid in the last six months. The new restrictions will take effect on July 26.
The bill, however, sparked debate among politicians, and it was only passed by six votes.
According to the BBC, Richard Boyd Barrett of the People Before Profit party said, “A person’s health or vaccination status should not determine their right to essential items in our society.”
“And I say that minister as someone who is thrilled about the vaccination program that is currently underway – and our entire party is enthused about immunization.
“I mention that in the context of asking everyone who is offered a vaccine to take it since the immunization program is.”Brinkwire Summary News.”
