NEWS, sign-ups, and Ubisoft gameplay for Tom Clancy’s XDefiant beta.

XDefiant puts the Tom Clancy universe together in a single player-versus-player shooter.

Ubisoft has officially revealed Tom Clancy’s XDefiant.

Characters and factions from Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and The Division appear in the free-to-play multiplayer shooter.

Signing up for the pre-release beta on August 5 will give fans a chance to try out the new game. On the xDefiant website, you can join up for the beta.

“Tom Clancy’s XDefiant is a free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that blends furious gunplay with specialized factions and individualized loadouts as teams of gunfighters known as Defiants strive for dominance.

“Select your faction, traits, abilities, and ultras from the drop-down menus. To complete your loadout, choose from an array of primary and secondary weapons, attachments, and a device – then change it on the fly to adapt to an ever-changing battlefield,” according to Ubisoft. New factions, most likely from the Rainbow Six series, will be added at a later date.

“Battles between Wolves, Outcasts, Cleaners, and Echelon factions in legendary places are just the beginning. As the game develops, we’ll continue to expand to our cast of Defiants, drawing on a variety of characters and talents from the Clancy universe and beyond.” Watch the entire announcement trailer below… Ubisoft is gearing up to launch a fresh new first-person multiplayer shooter.

IGN released a small gameplay preview for the mysterious new game over the weekend.

The only thing we know about the new first-person shooter is that game is set in the ‘Tom Clancy’ universe.

Some fans believe it’s the long-rumored Battlecat game, which combines multiple Tom Clancy games in a competitive multiplayer environment.

The Division is mentioned in the early gameplay teaser, which confirms the FPS rumour.

According to the gameplay clip, Battlecat will be similar to games like Overwatch in terms of objective-based gameplay, complete with unique character skills.

When the new Tom Clancy game is revealed in full on July 19, fans will know for sure.

The official reveal will take place at 7 p.m. BST in the United Kingdom, although the live feed will begin at 6.30 p.m.
