NCT choreographer describes how hard it was to collaborate with 23 members

No K-pop group will equal NCT in terms of membership. NCT is by far the biggest party in the industry right now, with 23 members and counting.

As you can imagine, it is no simple task to create seamless choreography for such a large community. The choreographer of NCT has now spoken about the struggles he had while attempting to collaborate with all 23 members.

NCT has 23 members, split into various subunits,

Taeyong, Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, Kun, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, WinWin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark, Xiaojun, Hendery, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, YangYang, Shotaro, Sungchan, Chenle, and Jisung are currently 23 members of NCT.

South Koreans are the bulk of the participants, but there are also those from China, Japan, Thailand, the U.S. and Canada.

NCT, however, does not usually work with all 23 members as one entity.

All of them are split into subunits, with certain individuals operating in more than one of them.

There are four subunits now. With each promotion period, NCT U is the only non-fixed unit where members rotate. The Seoul-based subunit is NCT 127. The sub-unit based in China is WayV. NCT Dream – also located in Seoul – used to be a revolving unit composed of adolescent members, but a fixed unit has since been renamed.

NCT recently performed together with all 23 participants,

Why do so many members belong to K-pop groups?

NCT’s 23 members rarely meet in one venue, but they have recently come together to perform as NCT 2020.

The last time they did this was in 2018, when only 18 members were part of the NCT.

NCT members released the NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. albums in the fall and winter of 2020. 1 and Resonance Pt of NCT 2020. 2.

The singles “Make A Wish (Birthday Song),” “From Home,” “90’s Love,” “Work It,” and “Resonance.” were also published.

At the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the KBS Song Festival, all 23 members performed together as well.

The choreographer of NCT addresses the complexities of collaborating with all 23 members.

The manager of SEVENTEEN once shared what it’s like to take care of such a big number.

NCT also has very impressive choreography, and it allows for an exciting show when 23 members are involved. The road to creating choreography for such a big party, however, is an arduous one.

The choreographer of the party, Ryu.D, who has collaborated with the members for five years now, opens up about the video experience.

Ryu.D disclosed that, instead of the participants, he experimented with plastic cups to come up with the choreography. It took two days and he characterized the process as “so hard.” He noted that it was even harder than attempting to arrange the rehearsal schedule for everyone.

For Ryu.D, the fact that NCT can play several songs during a show was a major part of the challenge.

If it were just one album,”If it was just one song, we could work it out within one setting,”we could work it out within one setting. “We begin with ‘Make a Wish,’ then ’90’s Love,” Resonance’ and ‘Work It’ come out one after the other. When everyone is gathered, we have to consider the direction of each member and the formation.”

“It was really the biggest project in my life.” Ryu.D added.

While it is a difficult job to be a choreographer for a large group, he also revealed that the participants were able to quickly learn things, and fortunately the rehearsals went smoothly for everyone.
