After a mishap, Naga Munchetty is ‘not impressed’ with Jon Kay and channels Jack Duckworth.

Following a mishap, Jon Kay of BBC BREAKFAST said his co-star Naga Munchetty was unimpressed after he channeled Coronation Street star Jack Duckworth (played by Bill Tarmey) on the show today.

After breaking his glasses in the studio, BBC Breakfast host Jon Kay, 52, soldotaped them to his face.

He compared his appearance to that of former Coronation Street actor Bill Tarmey, who wore white tape on his specs during his time on the show.

“Going full Jack Duckworth on the @BBCBreakfast sofa this morning,” he wrote, referring to his 39,000 Twitter followers.

“Sellotape was used to hold the glasses in place.

“I’m not impressed, @TVNaga01.”

His fans reacted to his post in a variety of ways.

“You are so funny – mine are sellotaped as well, and have been for four weeks,” Alison Moss wrote.

Stacey Solomon is undecided about whether or not she should proceed with her wedding plans.

“It’s effective.”

Reminds me to make an appointment with the optometrist.”

“We’ve all been there,” Stuart_JSmith added.

If that isn’t it, it’s a screw coming out of the arms that you can’t seem to find.”

“Is there a better style icon?” Linda Sinclair typed.

“It happens to everyone at some point!” Lou Blakeway added.

“It’s great to see you on the sofa; too bad it can’t be more permanent.”

Bill played Jack on Coronation Street from 1979 to 2010.

He died of a heart attack while on vacation in Tenerife two years later.

After the show, Naga Munchetty shared a post from her co-star on her Facebook page.

“Standards, my friend!” she wrote on Twitter. “(hashtag)slipping @jonkay01.”

Naga apologized for an apparent blunder regarding Ceefax, the former teletext information service, on another segment of the show today.

The host said she remembered booking vacations on the platform, but her co-star didn’t.

“No, that was on ITV Oracle, wasn’t it?” Jon clarified.

“Oh, you couldn’t book it,” she replied.

Ceefax was on the BBC, oh no!”

“Well, I don’t know, maybe you could,” he added.

“And you got all your news updates and your weather,” she continued.

Oh, it was incredible!”
