‘Mugged myself off,’ says Rose Ayling-Ellis of her ’embarrassing’ Strictly comeback.

ROSE AYLING-ELLIS revealed a humiliating incident that occurred behind the scenes of Strictly Come Dancing.

Strictly Come Dancing returned to BBC screens on Saturday, with seven celebrities competing for the dazzling glitterball trophy.

After meeting Cynthia Erivo behind the scenes, actress Rose Ayling-Ellis revealed an embarrassing moment that left her red-faced.

For Tuesday’s episode of It Takes Two, Rose and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice joined host Rylan Clark.

Rose opened up about meeting guest judge Cynthia Erivo and the embarrassing moment she had while they were talking about their performance and rehearsals.

“When I met her afterwards, I got a little nervous,” Rose admitted after expressing delight at being given a ten by Cynthia.

“I said to her, she had a really nice dress,” she explained, “and then she said, ‘I like your dress,’ and I said, ‘yeah, I’m playing Anna,’ and she said, ‘Why did I tell her I’m playing Anna when she just watched me?”

Rose visibly cringed, covered her face, and said, “It was really embarrassing.”

“You mugged yourself right off there,” Rylan interjected, laughing, as the actress added, “I embarrassed myself.”

After Craig Revel-Horwood was diagnosed with COVID-19, Broadway star Cynthia Erivo temporarily replaced him on the Strictly judging panel.

Fans thought she was best suited to be on the judging panel for the competition’s musical week due to her extensive experience in theatre production.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t Rose and Gio’s only misstep on Saturday; the couple also made a minor error during their performance.

“Tiny, tiny, tiny mini mouse mistake,” said Motsi Mabuse.

“I saw the light on the floor too close to me, so I was trying to do a different step because I didn’t want to trip over,” Gio explained to Rylan, raising his arm.

Despite this, he praised Rose for following his lead: “She didn’t realize it was a mistake, that’s how good she was, and the fact that she was now following me.”

“I changed my steps and she still followed me,” he continued, “it’s unbelievable, this is professional level.”

Rose’s week of music.
