Monty Don asks, “Why am I doing this?” as his wife ‘walks away’ from the show.
MONTY DON has spoken out about his wife “walking away” after they watched the hit TV show Succession together.
Monty Don, the host of Gardeners’ World, gave a rare glimpse into his home life with his wife Sarah Don, discussing how they spend their free time together.
When the horticulturist isn’t tending to his lush gardens at his Herefordshire home, the host admits to putting his feet up and watching the popular series.
The 66-year-old revealed that the hit show Succession is one of his favorites.
The drama series follows the Roy family, the dysfunctional owners of Waystar RoyCo, a global media and entertainment conglomerate, as they fight for control of the company amid concerns about Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) health.
The gardening expert was quizzed about the show in a new BBC Radio 5 Live interview with Nihal Arthanayake, where he admitted his other half isn’t as enthusiastic.
When asked who his favorite character on the show is, the on-screen star replied that he finds them all “loathsome.”
“That’s really difficult,” Monty explained, “because they’re all so disgusting.”
In the end, I feel sorry for most of them.”
Logan Roy is his favorite character in the series, according to the BBC star.
“[His character] is a tyrant, a bully, but utterly repulsive,” he said.
However, he appears to have the most positive life force of all of them.
Despite the fact that he destroys everything in his path.”
“It’s really interesting that you describe them all as loathsome,” Nihal said, “because I haven’t watched Succession, Monty, and that’s the reason.”
“I’ve heard from so many people that this is a despicable bunch of people, so why should I waste my time watching them?”
The BBC presenter revealed that his partner would undoubtedly agree with the 5Live host.
“This is something my wife and I agree on.”
To be honest, we’ve only recently begun watching season three because we wanted to watch it together,” Monty explained.
“This is the first time we’ve all had the chance to watch it together.”
