Money, money, money! ‘Red Notice’ Salaries for The Rock, Gal Gadot, and Others

The cast of Netflix’s most costly film, ‘Red Notice,’ were paid handsomely for the company’s most expensive film yet – wages disclosed

For the same amount of labour, equal pay is required. Gal Gadot made just as much money in Netflix’s Red Notice as her male co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with all three A-listers earning six figures.

The action picture, which will premiere on Netflix in November 2021, follows FBI profiler John Hartley (Johnson) as he investigates an Interpol-issued Red Notice – the world’s most-wanted criminals’ highest-level warrant. Nolan Booth (Reynolds), the world’s second-leading art thief, is his first target, but Hartley understands that working with the bad guy is the only way he can find the world’s top art thief, The Bishop (Gadot).

Throughout Gadot’s career, pay equity has been a major concern. “My biggest battle as a woman has been equal remuneration with my male co-stars, whom I adore,” Gal Gadot stated during a press conference for her documentary series, Impact With Gal Gadot, in April 2021. “That has been the most important thing for me as a woman.” I’ve dealt with a variety of other issues in my life. But it was equal pay with my male stars that I pushed for the most.” According to Variety, Reynolds, Johnson, and Gadot all earned the same eight-figure acting salary. Johnson, on the other hand, is expected to create additional films because he not only acted in but also produced the adventure film.

Red Notice is “the biggest investment NETFLIX has ever made in a film,” Johnson said in an October 2021 Facebook post, and the budget allows the film to truly feel huge as it follows the FBI agent and art thieves around the globe to exotic locations with huge stunt scenes and loads of special effects.

The Termana Tequila founder stated at the time, “Here’s what I know: Red Notice was my first ever movie on @Netflix, and I intended to make it historic, enormous, and entertaining for the world.”

According to Deadline in 2019, Red Notice has a $130 million budget. The film was originally supposed to be made by Universal and Legendary when it was announced in 2018, however the studios pulled out after determining that it was too pricey. Netflix stepped in to cover the cost of the smash movie. The 2020 coronavirus pandemic halted production, adding unanticipated costs to an already expensive product… Brinkwire in a nutshell.
