Mia Jaye, Young Dolph’s partner, thanks fans for their ‘prayers’ following the rapper’s death.

Young Dolph’s longtime partner is speaking out after the rapper was shot and killed outside a local cookie shop on Wednesday.

Mia Jaye took to social media just one day after Dolph’s death at the age of 36, to thank fans of the “Rich Slave” rapper Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr. for their support during the tragedy.

Jaye broke her silence about Dolph’s death on her Instagram Story, where she shared a video of him playing with their daughter, Ari, and wrote, “Question is…

“How am I going to tell my kids that daddy isn’t coming home?” says the mother of Tre, the couple’s son.

“God give me strength…,” Jaye wrote in a second post to her Story.

Jaye went on to thank fans for their prayers and support in a third, longer text post.

“I appreciate everyone’s prayers, love, support, and messages…

“I may not see them all, but I do catch a few when my eyes aren’t filled with tears,” she wrote.

“However, we appreciate all genuine positive vibes, energy, and prayers…

Because, Lord knows, I’m in desperate need of them.”

Dolph, 36, was killed in a fatal shooting in Memphis on Wednesday, according to Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn “CJ” Davis. Jaye’s message came shortly after.

According to Davis, the musician was shot and killed while buying cookies at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies.

Two suspects exited a white two-door Mercedes-Benz armed with firearms and approached Dolph, according to photos later shared by the police department on Twitter and taken from surveillance footage.

The suspect, according to police, shot Dolph several times before fleeing.

“The suspects approached the victim while he was inside the business and shot him several times,” authorities said.

The suspects then fled the scene.” At this time, no arrests have been made in relation to Dolph’s murder.

Dolph is a Chicago native who grew up in Memphis. His first studio album, King of Memphis, was released in 2016.

In the years that followed, he released several more albums, including Rich Slave, his fifth, which reached No. 1 in 2020.

The Billboard 200 chart places her at number five.

“Get Paid,” “Blue Diamonds,” and “RNB,” which he co-wrote with Megan Thee Stallion, are some of his most well-known songs.

Jaye and Dolph are Dolph’s survivors.
