Martin Lewis warns of the festive “danger” of the red and amber lists, claiming that “no insurers will cover you.”

HOLIDAYS ARE STILL AT THE RISK OF THE GOVERNMENT’S TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM, WITH THOSE RETURNING FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES FACING RAPID QUALIFICATION AND TESTING REQUIREMENTS. As a result, Martin Lewis has issued a warning to consumers that they may be at danger of losing significant sums of money.

Covid-weary Brits may be more keen than ever to take a vacation abroad. Money saving expert Martin Lewis, on the other hand, has warned that traveling is a significant “risk.”

Britons may discover their green-list vacation unexpectedly placed under amber or even red limitations due to the government’s ever-changing traffic light travel list.

While travel insurance is normally a must-have in case of last-minute alterations to trip plans, Martin pointed out that insurers fall short when it comes to traffic light restrictions.

The money saving guru was questioned on ITV’s This Morning whether travel insurance products could provide protection if a country was unexpectedly placed on the red or amber list.

He cautioned, “There are no travel insurers that will cover you for what you want.”

“People need to understand this: Going on vacation abroad carries risk, including financial danger.”

Although there are techniques to reduce the risk, travel insurance will not suffice in the case of Covid.

Martin explained, “We counteract that first and foremost by looking for flexible bookings.”

“Secondly, you can gain Section 75 protection by paying with plastic, especially a credit card that has been paid up in full.

“Third, obtaining travel insurance is a must.

“You should always buy it since there are numerous issues other than Covid that are worth getting, and you get it as soon as you book.”

“I don’t want anyone to avoid purchasing travel insurance as a result of what I’m about to say.

“In general, if you have a personal Covid concern, you’re protected.

“You aren’t usually if you have a systemic, nationwide Covid issue.”

While insurers will cover COVID-19 if a passenger or a member of their party contracts it, they are unlikely to cover restrictions imposed as a result of traffic signal modifications.

The government notified the newest changes to the traffic signal list on Thursday evening.

Those planning trips to Majorca, Mallorca, and Ibiza in the following weeks were informed that the Balearic Islands will be turning. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
