The news follows a November statement that Nelson, 29, for personal medical reasons, will be taking a “extended” break.

Nelson had earlier missed the final of the BBC One talent show The Hunt by Little Mix, as well as a performance at the MTV European Music Awards.

Statement on Little Mix:

For personal medical reasons, Jesy is taking an extended break from Little Mix. At this time, we will have no further comment and ask the media to respect her privacy during this time.

A statement from the publicist for the band, Simon Jones, reads, “For personal medical reasons, Jesy is taking an extended hiatus from Little Mix.” At this moment, we will have no further comment and ask the media to respect her privacy at this time.

His sixth studio album, titled Confetti, was recently released by the band, his first since parting with Simon Cowell’s Syco label.

On “The X Factor” (Peter Byrne/PA), Little Mix was created.

In 2011, on The X Factor, Little Mix founded and became one of the best-selling girl bands in the world.

They appeared as soloists on the ITV singing competition, but were then put in the later stages of the show by the judges in a group.

They quit Syco Music for the RCA label in November 2018.

In order to compete with the girl group The Quest, Cowell later released another iteration of The X Factor, called The Band.

In a BBC documentary called Odd One Out, Nelson has previously spoken frankly about her battle with anxiety, revealing that the social media bullying got so extreme that she attempted to take her own life.

The show won her the award for best factual entertainment at the 2020 National Television Awards.

Next year, the band will embark on a UK tour and visit Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in May 2021.
