‘Law – Order: SVU’ wanted Zoe Saldana to be a recurring character, but she soon became popular.

Zoe Saldana has been one of the largest stars in Hollywood over the past 20-plus years.

Saldana has rapidly risen to fame, from Star Trek to Avatar and finally the MCU franchise.

But did you know she got her start in Law and Order, appearing in the franchise not in one, but in two series? As it turned out, initially, the producers decided to offer a much bigger part to the star than she ended up having.

Instead, in just one episode of Law & Order: SVU, the actress appeared. So what happened and why weren’t the series’ creators able to make it work?

Zoe Saldana, who is he?

You’ve probably seen Saldana in a show or movie before if you’re a fan of the entertainment industry.

When she was 20 years old, the New Jersey-born actress got her first role, playing Belinca in the original series Law and Order.

The actress appeared in another episode of the series the same year.

After “Law and Order,” the 42-year-old landed roles in “Center Stage,” “Get Over It” and “Snipes.”

In 2004, when she returned to the “Law and Order” franchise for a “SVU” episode, the actress was already gaining appreciation among her peers for her work.

Initially, the creators of “SVU” had a larger role in mind for the actress.

With that, there is no arguing. ⁇ https://t.co/i9BqMP0Mi0- &: (@nbcsvu) December 9, 2020 ‘Law & Order: SVU’: Mariska Hargitay is very close to Olivia Benson.

It is not surprising that the producers of SVU decided to place Saldana in a larger role in the series.

While the actress ended up playing Gabrielle Vega, a law student and the daughter of a murder suspect, the initial intention was to eventually join Saldana as an assistant district attorney in the district attorney’s office.

BuzzFeed was told by casting director Jonathon Strauss, “Zoe is one I’ve had my eye on for a while,” and added, “It’s not a secret now, but there’s no one like her, and there really wasn’t anyone like her 10 years ago.”

Saldana eventually only appeared in one episode of Law and Order: SVU, with a big issue being timing.

“In the end, it wasn’t practical because she became famous very quickly and the scheduling was too complicated.” according to Strauss.

The lost opportunity was resolved by both parties.

Yeah, thanks!!!!! May 2, 2019While it would be fun to see Mariska Hargitay and Saldana function side by side, it ended up being a partnership that was just not meant to be. https://t.co/alxup4vBkv- Zoe Saldana (@zoesaldana) May 2, 2019

And it’s fair to conclude that neither Saldana nor the series are looking at “what could have been.”

After her appearance on SVU, before landing her biggest role as Uhura in 2009’s Star Trek, Saldana appeared in a variety of films, followed by a starring role in the monster blockbuster Avatar. She has appeared in other Star Trek movies since then, playing Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy. Currently, Saldana has many projects in the works, including follow-ups to all three movies.

The actress was nominated for several acting awards and three times won the Teen Choice Award for Best Lead Actress. In 2018, for her work, she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

As for SVU, Saldana would certainly have been a valuable addition to the cast, but only since 2004 has the series been flourishing.

The series recently became the longest-running drama in television history, currently in its 22nd season, and there seems to be no end in sight.

In the future, will there be a reappearance of Saldana? The actress appears to be as busy as ever.

But if the possibility ever happens, there’ll certainly be fans.
