Last-minute preparations during Ant’s 100k wedding at Hampshire church.
During yesterday’s last-minute preparations for Ant McPartlin’s £100,000 wedding, crateloads of flowers were transported inside a chapel.
The 45-year-old TV presenter, who is half of Ant and Dec, will marry Anne-Marie Corbett today at St Michael church in Heckfield, Hampshire.
The couple, who have both previously married, are claimed to want to forego all of the glitz and glam of a celebrity wedding. However, it is set to be one of the year’s most glamorous weddings, with Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, and, of course, Ant’s best friend and best man Declan Donnelly among the guests.
Following the 1 p.m. church service, the newlyweds and their guests will spend the weekend celebrating at Heckfield Place, a country estate with tight security and a marquee already set up.
On 400 acres of quiet Hampshire landscape, it is characterized as a “Georgian family home lovingly restored and rewoven into a luxury hotel.”
Standard rooms start at £1,000 per night, with the honeymoon suite costing £5,000 per night.
A lorry full of purple and pink flowers arrived yesterday, and florists started to work beautifying St Michael’s, including building an arch at the entrance. The exquisite church, which dates back to the 13th century, is bordered by an ancient burial site and a Garden of Remembrance and contains beautiful stained-glass windows.
Ant and Anne-Marie, 43, who met after Ant’s 11-year marriage to Lisa Armstrong ended in January 2018, have invited 100 people to their wedding. Ant is reported to have spent £100,000 to ensure that they all get free stays at Heckfield Place.
He and Anne-Marie are reportedly expected to take her two children from her past marriage on their honeymoon.
Ant proposed on Christmas Eve, praising Anne-Marie for assisting him in overcoming his alcohol and prescription medication addictions, which jeopardized his job and health.
He added about their February engagement, “It was a great way to conclude the year.” I’m a hopeless romantic at heart. In front of the Christmas tree, there were flowers and afternoon tea. Lovely. It was wonderful.”
The couple has known each other for years, with Anne-Marie, a personal assistant, having previously worked at the same agency as Dec’s wife Ali Astall.
