Jennifer Lawrence became one of Hollywood’s brightest young stars, receiving an Academy Award and many other awards long before her 30th birthday.
Yet she has always insisted, despite being a fantastic actress, that she is the same relatable individual she has always been.
Jennifer Lawrence rose to Hollywood’s peak
Jennifer Lawrence has already developed herself as a force to be reckoned with, considering her relatively young age by Hollywood standards. In the early 2010s, her appearance as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games movie series made her the highest-paid action heroine of all time.
She was praised and earned her first Academy Award for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook (2012); she remains the second youngest person to win the Academy Award for Best Actress. At the Golden Globes, the BAFTAs and more, Lawrence has also won awards.
Jennifer Lawrence maintains that she is a typical woman.
Lawrence has consistently emphasized over the past decade, despite being an Oscar-winning star, that she is a human being like anyone else. In 2013, when promoting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, while discussing eating on set one day, she famously created a viral moment in an interview. “Where’s the pizza?”Where’s the pizza?
When Lawrence was revealed as the recipient of the Academy Award for Best Actress that year, another ‘stars: they’re just like us’ moment occurred. Lawrence wore a Dior gown and a long, ruffled train, and as she ascended the stairs to the stage to receive her award, she stumbled and fell to her knees.
When she came to the stage, Lawrence got a standing ovation and she thought it was out of sympathy. “You’re just standing up because you feel bad that I fell and it’s embarrassing, but thank you,”You’re just standing up because you feel bad that I’ve fallen down and it’s embarrassing, but thank you.
Jennifer Lawrence reveals her real reason for taking a break from performing
The spending habits of Jennifer Lawrence haven’t changed.
In a 2013 cover story for the British magazine Fabulous, Lawrence clarified that, despite rapidly becoming one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, her financial practices have not changed. “I don’t walk around feeling famous. I walk around feeling exactly the way I’ve walked around all my life,” she confessed. “But it’s not until I talk to someone and see in their eyes that I’m different. It makes me feel weird.”
The “I was raised to have appreciation for money, to have respect for money, even if you have a lot of it,” star said, “American Hustle” “My family is not the kind of family that would ever let me turn into an a**hole or anything like that, so I’m lucky to have them.”
She lived in a run-down apartment when Lawrence moved to New York as a teenager to make it as an actress, which frightened her mother when she came to visit.
But Lawrence didn’t care where she lived, as long as she was chasing her dream. She remembers, “She saw how happy I was living alone in a rat-infested apartment just auditioning,”
As a successful actress, Lawrence may have a financial fortune, but she’s still the same Jennifer Lawrence from Kentucky. She lived in the same three-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles that she had moved into a couple of years before her big break, and she had never rushed to buy a home.
She also acknowledged that she has no personal assistants to do her shopping for her, and that she can’t be found in expensive shops, preferring to clip coupons like the rest of us. “I’ve hated shopping my whole life,” she said frankly. “My mom used to drive me to TJ Maxx and I would almost pass out from boredom.”
