Jane McDonald discusses her ‘very difficult’ TV appearance after crying over her fiancé.
JANE MCDONALD has spoken out about her “very difficult” appearance on Loose Women yesterday, in which she acknowledged the death of her beloved fiancé Ed.
Jane McDonald, 58, thanked fans for their support after her appearance on Loose Women yesterday, admitting it was difficult to talk about her loss in public for the first time. Eddie Rothe, the singer’s fiancé, died earlier this year following a brief fight with lung cancer, leaving her distraught.
“I’d like to say a great thank you for all the messages of support I received after speaking about losing my darling Ed on Loose Women yesterday,” she wrote on Twitter today.
“It was really difficult for me to speak publicly for the first time about his death. Your help has meant a lot to me…
“I’m sure many of you are in a similar predicament, and my heart breaks for you.
“While there are still some rough days ahead, there are many more to come.” She continued, “I adore Jane. @loosewomen.”
Her admirers reacted positively, saying they were glad to see her return to the panel program and sending her notes of encouragement.

Beautiful lady, and it’s wonderful to have you back at loose women. Jane, I lost my spouse when he was 42 years old, so I absolutely understand how you feel. I, too, made the decision not to remain sad for the rest of my life, and I promise it gets better.” “@TheJaneMcDonald” typed @cjbigbird. Jane, you are so brave and inspiring for conducting the interview so quickly. I wept alongside you. Ed will live on in your heart and mind forever. You are a lovely person with a lovely grin. It’s okay to be sad if you’ve experienced a significant loss. “Remain steadfast.” While @KimsChance1 wrote: “You were amazing, so sorry for your loss, it’s heartbreaking knowing how much pain you’re in, I met you when you surprised me on your Jane & friends show a few years ago, you surprised me with a cruise after I lost my links to #sepsis, I met you when you surprised me on your Jane & friends show a few years ago, you surprised me with a cruise after I lost my links to #seps “You’re a one-of-a-kind lady.” The cruise expert, who appeared on the Loose Women panel on and off between 2004 and 2014, sat down for a touching chat with former co-stars Carol McGiffin and Kaye Adams yesterday.
