Jamie Spears inherited’millions’ from Britney Spears.
BRITNEY Spears has taken a step closer to gaining her freedom. Jamie Spears, her conservator, has been removed from her case. Following the star’s escape from his control, some have speculated that “corruption” enabled him to “steal millions” from her money.
Britney Spears, 39, is free of her father’s authority after a judge ruled to remove Jamie Spears from a conservatorship that has presided over her life for 13 years. Her £45 million estate and career choices are also free of his influence.
Mr. Spears, 69, will be required to provide financial records to Britney’s new conservator.
Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, alleges they contain “proof of his corruption — and more.”
Mr Rosengart informed Britney that if any of her money was misused, she would sue her father.
Mr. Spears called the decision to remove him as Britney’s conservator as “frankly a loss” for her yesterday. “He has attempted to do what is in her best interests,” his lawyer Vivian Thoreen said.
“Anyone who has attempted to aid a family member with mental health concerns understands the enormous amount of everyday anxiety and labor that goes into it.”
Mr. Spears is also expected to face questioning about hiring a security agency to tap his daughter’s phone.
