‘It’s inedible!’ Paul Hollywood exclaims as he refuses to eat the Bake Off finalist’s ‘raw’ dish.

‘It’s inedible!’ Paul Hollywood says of the Bake Off finalist’s ‘raw’ dish.

In the final episode of the Great British Bake Off, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith judged the raw focaccia and declared one of the bakes “inedible.”

Finalists Giuseppe Dell’Anno, Chigs Parmar, and Crystelle Pereira all appeared to buckle under the pressure in some way during the last week of the series, when tensions in the tent were at an all-time high.

Because it was “raw,” Crystelle’s final showstopper on the Great British Bake Off couldn’t even be tasted by the Channel 4 show’s judges, Paul and Prue.

The three contestants baked carrot cakes, Belgian buns, and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party-themed showstopper in the final episode.

Crystelle discovered the hard way that her focaccia had failed to cook all the way through when it was her turn to present her show-stopper to the judges.

As the finalist presented her dish, Paul commented, “Right, focaccia.”

“It’s a za’atar, garlic, and honey focaccia,” she explained.

Prue awkwardly commented after tasting the bake, “Uh, this isn’t recognisable as focaccia.”

“That’s uncooked dough,” Paul clarified.

“What have you done?” says the narrator.

“I mean, that’s raw… has it been baked?”

“Yes,” replied the 26-year-old baker, concerned.

“I don’t know what happened,” she continued, “that’s bizarre.”

“It has no rise on it at all,” Paul continued.

That one’s inedible.”

“That’s a pity,” Prue said, looking at the rest of the dish.

Paul commented, “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

“I’m really sorry, I have no idea what happened, that’s bizarre,” Crystelle said, disappointed.

“But overall, I think your flavors and what you did try were very good,” Paul concluded.

Crystelle appeared to have suffered a significant financial loss as a result of her blunder, and she was not named the series’ winner.

Giuseppe was awarded the title after a long wait.

“I am so happy for Giuseppe,” Crystelle said modestly after his win.

“He’s a fantastic individual.

So genuine, such an insane baker, and he truly deserves to win.

“His family will be extremely proud of him.”
