THIS MORNING HAS BEEN EXTREMELY EXTREMELY E After describing the origins of her husband’s first choice of name for their son, Ruth Langsford lambasted it, calling it “sad and pathetic.”
Ruth Langsford, 61, has lambasted her husband Eamonn Holmes, 61, over his original choice of name for their son when he was born, calling the nickname “awful.” Eamonn’s wife of 11 years slammed her husband’s preferred name for their son when appearing on the ITV breakfast show as stand-in presenters for usual hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
And you claimed it was depressing and pitiful.
Eamonn Holmes is an Irish writer.
Ruth stated that co-presenter Dr Zoe Williams named her baby Lisbon Lion after the city because it was there that she met her partner Stuart McKay.
“Is he a Celtic supporter?” Eamonn inquired, eager to learn more.
“I have no notion, darling,” Ruth said.
Eamonn offered a another reason for the newborn’s name, noting that his wife was giving him a weird look.
“Now you’re staring at me like that,” he explained, “but the child’s name is Lisbon Lion, and Celtic won the European Cup in Lisbon in 1967.”
Ruth, on the other hand, insisted on being clueless: “All I’m saying is that I’m not sure.”
“They were renowned as the Lisbon Lions,” Eamonn continued.
Ruth tried to appease her husband by saying, “Well, OK, if that’s your theory.”
However, Eamonn jumped in with a light-hearted accusation that his wife had put her foot down over a football-themed name for their own boy.
“You stopped me calling our child Alex,” Eamonn joked.
Ruth clarified, “After Alex Ferguson.”
Eamonn, a die-hard Manchester United supporter, responded, “And you said it was sad and pathetic.”
Ruth, the star of Loose Women, happily exclaimed, “I did!”
The couple went on to say that their 18-year-old son was called Jack, which Ruth described as a “nice, solid” name.
Returning to the initial topic of Dr Zoe’s son’s name, Ruth stated that they would personally inquire of the medical professional as to whether or not her son was named after the Lisbon Lions.
When Eamonn was working at GMTV in 1997, he met Ruth.
Five years later, they welcomed their lone child, Jack, into the world, and married in 2010.
