Is your town on the list of best places to live in the UK? Top ten.
THE BEST PLACES TO LIVE IN THE UK HAVE BEEN DETERMINED. Where should Britons live and retire, based on crime rates, property prices, cost of life, and top hospitals? Local Financial Advice conducted a new study that looked at locations across the UK and compiled a list of the greatest places to live and retire. The list, which takes into account factors such as cost of living, average house prices, life expectancy, crime index, and best hospital index scores, among others, may provide inspiration for Britons looking for a change.
Newcastle has the lowest cost of living in the United Kingdom.
The northern city may be large, but it’s a bargain for everyone from first-time buyers to new families and seniors.
London is the best city for hospitals.
Medical support and treatment are at the top of the list in the capital, which may be on the minds of retirees searching for a change.
Edinburgh takes the top rank in terms of pension fund size.
In the Scottish capital, the average pension fund is £139,000, which is £10,000 more than in London.
Cambridge, on the other hand, outperforms all others.
The ancient university town received high marks in every category.
In terms of life expectancy and crime index, it is also at the top of the list.
However, after London, Cambridge has the second highest average property price.
Belfast, with an average housing price of £142,394, was the lowest of the top ten best cities.
According to Local Financial Advice, Cambridge is the finest city in the UK for retirees.
“Moving to a new area for retirement gives a range of life-changing and exciting opportunities to live out those golden years to the fullest,” said Nigel Borwell of Local Financial Advice.
“Our new retirement index serves as a helpful tool to determining where you should retire.
“I encourage more soon-to-be retirees to take the plunge and reap the benefits.”
