Is there going to be a second season of The Good Doctor?

Season four of THE GOOD DOCTOR began in November 2020, and now all eyes are on a possible fifth season. Will the show, however, be renewed for a second season?

The Good Doctor is one of ABC’s most popular shows, with a devoted following built up throughout the first four seasons. Fans have been waiting anxiously for Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) to return after the previous season. Is there going to be a second season of the show?

The Good Doctor has only been off the air for a few months, but fans are already looking forward to season five.

Before the wait for the fifth season began, the medical drama was last seen on ABC on June 7.

However, there is cause for celebration, since ABC announced the show’s renewal on May 3, well ahead of the season four finale.

The network is certainly optimistic about the show, and for good reason: it continues to be a huge hit with viewers.

The narrative of Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and Savant syndrome who is recruited to work at a famous hospital, has captivated audiences.

Fans have seen Shaun grow and evolve during the first four seasons as he adjusts to the rigorous life of a young doctor.

The wait for the fifth season will be short, as the show will premiere on September 27 at 10 p.m. EST.

Season 5’s finale will most likely be delayed until 2022, with the upcoming season set to end in March.

Shaun Murphy, Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara), Dr Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann), and Dr Alex Park are all set to return for the new season (Will Yun Lee).

Dr Audrey Lim (Christina Chang), Dr Marcus Andrews (Hill Harper), and Dr Aaron Glassman round out the primary cast (Richard Schiff).

There will also be some team promotions, as certain guest stars are now series regulars on the show.

Dr. Asher Wolke, Dr. Jordan Allen, and Dr. Mateo Rendom Osma are now full-time cast members, played by Noah Galvin, Bria Samone Henderson, and Osvaldo Benavides, respectively.

However, Antonia Thomas, who plays Dr. Claire Browne on the show, has confirmed that she will be departing the series after season five.

Browne remarked to Deadline, “Leaving is.” Brinkwire Summary News
