Is The Blacklist’s Season 9 the final season?

THE BLACKLIST has long been one of NBC’s biggest blockbusters, but might it be coming to an end after nine seasons?

The ninth season of The Blacklist on NBC has seen a few adjustments to the structure as it adjusts to the absence of Elizabeth Keen (played by Megan Boone). It’s been business as usual for Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington (James Spader) and the rest of the team. Could the Task Force be taking on one final mission after nine seasons? When Season 8 came to a close, many fans were concerned that the show will be cancelled shortly.

With the death of Elizabeth, one of the series’ most important characters, the show’s future was cast into doubt.

Season nine, of course, has handled this with a two-year time leap, with the characters moving on and going their own ways.

But it wasn’t long before Red reformed the band, resulting in a season unlike anything fans had seen before.

Season nine has focused on the group’s changing times, with viewers concerned that the finality of the tone suggests this may be the group’s final trip.

NBC has not stated whether or not this is the group’s final chapter.

As a result, season 10 has yet to be confirmed, and none of the principal cast members have commented on the matter.

It would be rare for NBC not to confirm the final season before the debut if season nine is the final season.

The last season of a long-running show usually emphasizes the finale, luring viewers in for one final climax to the plot.

The departure of series creator Jon Bokenkamp following season eight’s finale was another indicator that the show might be coming to an end.

“I love this show with all of my heart, and it’s been an incredible journey,” Bokenkamp wrote on Twitter. “However, after eight years, I feel it’s time for me to step out of my comfort zone, try something new, and explore a few of the other characters and stories that have been crawling around in my head.”

“I truly believe the series has a lot of life left in it, that it’s still creatively powerful, and that it has a lot more bright days ahead of it.”

Following two huge exits, it appears that season nine is attempting to modify and even reinvent the show.

This decision by NBC signals that “Brinkwire Summary News” will continue.
