It has become more difficult to find your favorite shows on streaming platforms as the competition gets bigger. The Office has been on Netflix for a long time, like many other famous shows, but is now only available in the US on Peacock. In terms of the expense of watching “The Office”, how has this transition impacted viewers?
The Office aired from 2005 to 2013 on NBC.
The Workplace, a U.S. spinoff of the same-name British series, debuted on NBC in 2005. The series features an ensemble cast that includes Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski and others, all of whom represent workers of a small-town paper mill in Pennsylvania whose lives are chronicled.
While mixed reviews were received from The Office season 1, the writers were able to separate it from the original and build something that has withstood the time test.
In the more than 15 years since it first aired, the hit series has become one of the most successful sitcoms in the US.
Fans have been able to stream it for years on Netflix,
We’re sad that NBC wanted to take the Office back for its own streaming channel, but subscribers will watch the Netflix ad-free series until January 2021-Netflix (@netflix) June 25, 2019 Why is Netflix quitting “The Office”?
Netflix was just starting to expand into the streaming space when “The Office” broadcast its series finale in 2013. The platform that allowed individuals to rent films and have them shipped to them became the home of binge-watching.
And so, fans of The Office have been able to do just that for several years.
Although The Office was wildly successful in its heyday, as it made its way to Netflix, it’s nothing compared to how many new audiences discovered it.
The streamer knew what a gem he had and tweeted memes and gifs from the series from his official accounts regularly, introducing a new wave of comedy.
In January 2021, ‘The Office’ switched to Peacock.
We’re running away from our duties today (binge #TheOfficeonPeacock) and it feels good. In 2020, Peacock, a new streaming service, was introduced by NBCUniversal. NBC favorites such as Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, Heroes and many more came along with it. However, due to pre-existing contracts which expired after launch, other series such as “The Office” were delayed.
How much does watching “The Office” on Peacock vs. Netflix cost?
Ha!-Ha! HTTPS:/t.co/nPpsk8bILY-Rebecca Theodore-Vachon (@FilmFatale NYC) still not signed on January 6, 2021So, how does the expense break down? The free offer from Peacock only gives access to the first two seasons of “The Office.”
And the commercials are there.
The second tier, costing $4.99 a month, has all nine seasons – but with advertisements again.
Finally, a (mostly) commercial-free way to watch The Office is the third tier. It costs 9.99 dollars a month.
For certain subscribers, it is already nearly half the cost of Netflix. Although Netflix never has commercials, it costs $14 per month for the cheapest subscription, whereas the premium tier costs $18 per month.
Those prices were set as another rise at the end of 2020. For those who already pay for Netflix, though, adding another streaming service is not necessarily desirable.
