Since being discovered in her teens, model Karlie Kloss has been in the public eye.
The star from St. Louis became renowned for her work with Victoria’s Secret, her Klossy coding company Kode and, of course, her friendship with Taylor Swift.
But her friendship with Josh Kushner, the brother of Trump administration advisor Jared Kushner, is one of the items that is frequently stated when thinking about Kloss.
Kloss and Kushner have been together since 2012, and were engaged and married in 2018, the Hollywood Reporter noted. Although their relationship is kept reasonably private, Kloss has opened up about one thing she did with Kushner during her time and it has to do with his Jewish religion.
Has Kloss converted?
In June 2018, Page Six notes, Kloss converted to Judaism.
The template also keeps kosher, which is a Jewish eating guideline, the source revealed to the publication.
Eating meat and milk together and avoiding foods such as shellfish and pork often means following a kosher diet. Kloss wasn’t too transparent about keeping kosher, but she spoke about her conversion.
What he said to Kloss about Judaism.
While prior to her relationship with Kushner, Kloss had kept quiet about her religious observance, she spoke about her conversion experience and what it means to her to be Jewish now.
“Changing a part of who you are for someone else can be seen as weak,” Kloss told British Vogue in 2019. “But you know what? Actually, when you’ve been through what I’ve been through, it requires you to be anything but weak. It requires me to be stronger and self-loving and resilient. I really didn’t take it lightly.”
Kloss also said that converting to Judaism for her relationship was not just something she did. She even did it for herself.
Kloss continued, “It wasn’t enough to just love Josh and make that decision for him,” “This is my life and I am an independent, strong woman. It was only after many years of studying, talking to my family and friends, and soul-searching that I made the decision to fully embrace Judaism in my life and plan a future with the man I want to marry.”
In her daily routine, Kloss also integrates other Jewish rituals.
Kloss claims she also observes Shabbat, the weekly Jewish day of rest, in addition to her conversion to Judaism and alleged kosher diet.
“Some people find grounding through meditation,” Kloss continued in her Vogue UK interview. “By exercise, others find it.
And to each on their own, but Shabbat has added so much importance to my life for me. It allows me to reconnect with the real world.
With the year we’ve all had, we can only hope that during what has been a shaky period for many, Kloss’ weekly Shabbat ritual has made her feel more comfortable and at ease.
