Is Helen Flanagan going to be Rosie Webster on Coronation Street?
Helen Flanagan, who portrayed Rosie Webster on Coronation Street for 18 years, is rumored to be leaving the ITV serial. Will she be leaving the show?
Helen, 31, first appeared on Coronation Street in 2000 as Rosie, the eldest daughter of Sally Webster (Sally Dynevor) and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell). The actress has left the ITV serial multiple times in the last 18 years to seek other job options and give birth to her two children. However, it has been rumoured that the actress will not return to the show after taking a maternity leave in 2018. Is Helen, on the other hand, abandoning the show?
Helen’s character Rosie left the show three years ago after being offered a role in a Japanese television series.
Sally’s daughter had always wanted to be famous, so it was an easy decision for her to make, and she went on to travel the world.
Rather than killing off the character, the executives chose to “leave the door open” for the soap star to return at some point in the future.
With the passage of time since the popular Weatherfield resident’s departure from the show, it is increasingly likely that she will remain off-screen for some time.
The news was reported by an anonymous source, who stated that Helen’s comeback is “up in the air.”
“She wants to focus on her three children and has other career goals, including acting jobs, that she wants to pursue before deciding whether or not to repeat her role as Rosie,” they stated.
“The sabbatical would last two to three years in the short term, but there’s no guarantee she’ll return even after that.”
The insider went on to claim that the actress “loves” the show and would prefer another “three years” off, but that because she has been away for so long, a return is “unfeasible,” according to The Sun.
A representative for Helen and a spokeswoman for Coronation Street have been contacted for comment by this website.
Helen wishes to devote her time to her three children.
Helen left the show for the first time in 2012, 12 years after she originally appeared as Rosie.
The soap star’s departure was disclosed later that year. “Brinkwire News in Condensed Form.”
